As I sit here thinking… overwhelmed with mom duties Valentines Day is creeping up. Although I am a huge believer on showing love on a daily, I only like making it special to remind my husband about the Valentines days in the past where it was just him and I. No children, no worries, no mortgage, just him and I. So, dating since 2007, married for almost 7years I want to know more about you moms out there? Any ideas? Suggestions? What do you like doing for your hubbies to make it that much more special?
Please comment, share? I am happy to read your thoughts. ♥️
So the new year came in kinda of laid back … then all of a sudden I was swamped! Today I am finally in and had a chance to come in here to write a little about mom life, work life and managing it! Not sure if I mentioned before but a few months ago my husband and I moved into a beautiful home. Although it was not our dream home when we initially bought it we have definitely worked on all sorts of remodels and changes.
These past few days I have been on shopping mode… shopping is actually a stress reliever to me believe it or not. Decor is not something I am really good at but Pinterest always inspires me to do better.
So back to being swamped, not only have I been super busy with my 2 littles but, it was recently my daughters 3rd birthday a few weeks ago which took quite some time of mine to organize. Yes, it was only our immediate family and took the precautions needed to be as safe as can be. I will add another blog with what we had for her birthday food, decor, cake and her excitement.
Lastly, I have survived work, caring for my children, dinner time, laundry time and anything you can name the past few weeks!
Why you should buy the Breville Express Espresso Maker. When looking for a great espresso machine you want to spend the extra buck for quality! Today I did just that and let me tell you why. About a week ago I decided to go for a Breville Espresso machine off of Amazon which was in the $200 + range. Amazon has great products but when you are looking for something that’s going to cost you some money it is best to purchase elsewhere. So I was expecting my Breville espresso machine for days and it finally arrived, when I opened the box I come to see the worst. The box did not seem to be sealed as it should have been, there was coffee grounds in the box and the machine itself was completely broken. I was so upset but I knew that this was not @Breville products. The following day I returned the item with UPS and decided to visit my local @bestbuy. I was so excited to see that they had the Breville espresso machines available. While I was there browsing the espresso machines I was able to see and feel the quality of each one there and although, I did not purchase the exact one from the prior purchase I made it was because one: they did not carry it at Best Buy and two: I knew I wanted to spend a little more for a machine of nicer quality. The Breville Barista Express Espresso machine I have purchased well I have no doubts in it and know it will and has been amazing! I can not wait to share more stories with you all on what my favorite drinks to make with the Breville Express Espresso machine will allow me to make! So far my lattes have been DELICIOSOS!!
Now that I have shared all the items I purchased for this project, I would like to share the steps I took to make it happen. Even though I was always with my hands full due to being that full time momma, again with a new born and a 2 year old at the time well you know things get a little hectic.
First, make sure that the cabinet doors and cabinet drawers hardware is placed in ziplock bags and alphabetize them through out so you can easily re-install them back.
Second, please, please do not skip cleaning and wiping down the grime and grease that may have accumulated over time. If you do skip this step you will see and notice that the brushes will start to bring out the grime and or grease and the paint will not brush in as smooth. So please don’t skip this step.
Moving along … the next step is to prime your kitchen cabinets. I decided to go with 2 coats on each side but you can do 3. The more the nicer they will take in the chalk paint. (Follow your primer instructions on drying times).
The next step is to chalk paint your cabinets. With my cabinets I also decided on doing to coats to them and wow did they look AMAZING!
Following to the top coats. As mentioned above my first choice was the wax top coat. Although, waxing my top kitchen. Cabinets took a little longer than my bottom cabinets it was well worth it. Why? Well let me tell you, I decided to go with a wax top coat on the kitchen cabinets on top and realized it was taking me a long time so decided to try a different top coat for the bottom kitchen cabinets. (The two top coats used are mentioned and linked above) Although, they are all holding up well and it has been almost half a year so can definitely see a difference. The top coat on my upper cabinets is a lot cleaner, whiter and smoother than my bottom cabinets.
So for the bottom cabinets I decided to use the chalk paint top coat from Rust-o-Leum and did 2 layers but was not as happy as I was with using wax on my upper cabinets. The difference here is that the bottom cabinets started to develop some yellow. With this being said if I were to repaint my cabinets which I probably will do, either this summer or next I am definitely using the WAX as my top coat for a better finish!
Thanks for visiting and hope this was helpful to someone that is hoping to paint their kitchen cabinets.
Loving life to the fullest since day 1….. well not that I could remember day one lol but ever since I was a little girl I remember always being a happy child. I would say now that I reflect on my years of a child/teenager and an early age adult to now, I can definatley describe myself as the happy, energetic, motivated and intellectual curious, Gemini that I am today. I am constantly juggling a variety of passions, hobbies, careers, and friend groups. As a Gemini I feel that my personality can talk to just about anyone and about anything really. In 2018, I delivered my first born and was stoked to be a first time mom. I was so excited until I fell into postpartum depression. I felt lost and felt that I would never be the same person I once was, but later with time I realized that things would get better and that sooner than later I would master this “Mom Thing”. Well nope, not really; I am still and will never master this mom thing because no matter what “we” as moms do on a daily, we are constantly learning. We are not only learning how to be a better mom but how each of our children’s personalities and needs are and they are definatley different. Moving along… that year I decided to start a small business on a platform some of you may have already heard of or even purchased from, Poshmark! ( https://poshmark.com/closet/dazzlemesam) I decided to give Poshmark a try and let me tell you I loved it. Soon I will share some tips and tricks on how I earned over 3k in less than 2 years. This is a great side hustle if you mommas or anyone loves to spend extra money on “Shopping”. 2020 rolled around sooner than later and I delivered my second child who is now 9 months old. As a mom of 2 children under the age of 3 I continue to juggle around a full time job, 2 kids and house cleaning I manage to give myself time for what I want to do and love to do. Although this doesn’t always go as planned I try to continuously motivate myself somehow. With the love I have for coffee I will accomplish anything (kidding) no but really I do love coffee and everything is better done with a cup of coffee in hand, which reminds me I just bought myself an espresso machine from BREVILLE which I will share how much I will enjoy later. Wait did I mention how much I love coffee?? With this being said, I hope to connect with other mommas, posh sellers, coffee lovers and inspirational humans.
